A Nordic Approach to Ethics and Privacy for Learning Analytics (EP4LA)

Welcome to a nearly 2 hours workshop at LASI-Nordic conference in Bergen, September 29th 2017. All participants at the conference will be participating in this workshop, and the aim will be to make sense of what happens in our countries related to EP4LA, and brainstorm some ideas for a Nordic approach. We present here the structure of the workshop, give you links to resources, and most importantly, offer you a small preparation challenge.

Towards Developing an Educational Maxim for Privacy and Data Protection in Learning Analytics

Workshop on Ethics and Privacy for Learning Analytics at EC-TEL 2017 I am co-organising a #EP4LA workshop at ED-TEL in Tallinn 12 September 2017. I will be a full day workshop with an interesting program. Weiqin Chen and my paper contribution is ready for download from this site, see Publications or this direct link to the pdf. In the workshop we will try among other tasks to take the LACE DELICATE framework to the next step, developing a process to ensure an effective conversation about LA ethics and privacy leading up to a plan of strategic actions.

About me

I would guess that Google does a good job providing information about this person. However, there are some sites that I with varying intensity maintain: LinkedIn (I am not too active staging myself on LinkedIn, nevertheless, I have a profile of sorts) (this site is not managed actively by me, but it seems to work on its own to tell a story about me) Researchgate.

Models and drawings

The last few years I’ve used a Tumblr site to gather models and drawings that I think could be of interest (or has caught my interest). You might have a look, to see if you find something that could stimulate your work in learning analytics or other learning technology related subjects.

I’ve revamped my personal homepage, now using a static site generator to build a webpage that should no be so easy to hack. I will not keep a very active blog, but sometimes it would be nice to have a place to put information that would be easy to point to and definitely have myself as originator. So stay tuned!
